My background includes working with Linux systems for over 15 years in the EDTech,
government and civilian sectors. I am currently working at Hawaiian Airlines in a Senior
role as a DevOps Engineer, where my responsibilities include managing the deployment
of multiple technologies including, Mulesoft, NodeJS, Angular, some Microservices
based in EKS and Android/IOS Native Mobile Apps. Our infrastructure is in AWS, Azure
and Mulesoft’s CloudHub infrastructure. Currently we are using multiple Hashicorp tools
like Vault to manage passwords in CICD along with Terraform as our orchestration tool
and for config management (where needed) we use Ansible. In previous roles I have
worked with a Java Linux stack while retrofitting configuration management and
deployment with SaltStack. I have experience with multiple Continuous Delivery tools
like Jenkins, Bamboo, Rundeck, TravisCI and Gitlab Runners to name a few.
Prior to my work as a Linux Systems Engineer and now a DevOps Engineer, I had the privilege of
being part of our Armed Forces serving two tours in Iraq managing Linux based missile
defense systems. During my first tour of duty, I developed and maintained an Internet
Cafe allowing thousands of soldiers to communicate and connect with friends and loved
ones while deployed.
In addition to the technical experience I got from the military, I gained the knowledge of
what it takes to work as a team and how important it is to work together to achieve a
common goal of success.
My hobbies include developing and maintaining my own Linux Distribution, camping
with my family, 3D Printing, testing various microcontrollers for home automation and
